Countryside Half-day Gastro-Wine Tour from Budapest Meal & pickup

1.Countryside Half-day Gastro-Wine Tour from Budapest Meal & pickup

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 1,450 reviews · 5 hours (approx.) · from $99Our pick

Leave central Budapest with a local guide such as Susan, Peter, Michael, or Julianna and spend about five hours in the Etyek-Buda wine region. Visit two or three family-run cellars, taste six to twelve wines, and choose between a two-course lunch, dinner, or Hungarian gastro-bites. Pickup and return transport are included.

“This was the best tour! Small group - just 8 of us and Julianna, our guide and driver. She was amazing and the perfect person to tell us about the wine in that region. The two wineries we visited were quaint, with great wines, but I liked they were two different types of facilities. Both were in their homes, but one was in a small neighborhood, with the tasting room above the pressroom, and the second was a dining room in a home, where we were also treated to lunch. I can't recommend this tour and Julianna, enough!”

The tasting took place at Platz, an eclectic restaurant with a fun vibe. The charcuterie board featured delicious local meats and cheeses. All in all, it was a great evening and we highly recommend. “An informative but long trip to and from both cities. Our tour driver was friendly and helpful but sometimes difficult to hear from the back seat of her personal vehicle. Lots to see of the medieval fortress at Visegrad, with sweeping views of the Danube. But be advised - a lot of steps up to the top!! Szentendre was a wonderful, picturesque city with lots of unique shops. All in all, a bit pricey.”
